I've been going to community colleges since I first left high school which is...let's just say, a long time ago.
In 2008 I decided to go to Chaffey, but was really going to try. I told myself this is it, this time I will do my two-years the right way. I really had that intention in mind, I took a class, just one, because I was working. I managed to get a B+ although I procrastinated, as always, which is something that will always affect me. Any way, I decided to do full-time summer classes, but because I was not working I wasn't going to purchase the books, I would go to the library to use the books, but found that to be too much work, I decided to stop going, without even dropping. Then I did another attempt the Fall of 2009 and I was actually, once again, trying I was doing my work and towards the end of the semester I came across a difficult time and once again, stopped going, getting four F's. Low and behold my GPA went down and I am now on probation. The Spring of 2011 I had three classes, one being a Guidance class I was required to take, another being English, and a Sociology Familes Studies class (which was a re-take).Because I was given the opportunity to work for a great company, I had to drop my classes, I had to drop English and Guidance, I managed to get a B-in Sociology, which is pretty good considering I missed a quiz...or two. I then took two classes during the Fall of 2011, retatking the Guidance class and History 18 which was one of the four classes I failed during that Fall of 2010, but because I was working 40 hours plus and was super sleepy, I dropped my Hist-17 class because the teacher was also a bore. The worst excuses, right? Anyway, I completed by Guidance class with an A-, which did help bring my GPA up. As you can see, my intentions are to do re-takes of all my failed classes, but some classes are super hard to get, for example, Art-1 and Psych-25 are pretty difficult to get, especially now that I have a later enrollment date. This semester I'm just taking two online classes to save money on gas & a parking pass. I'm taking CIS-1 (Fall 2010 retake) and Hist-17, just to get some credits and bring my GPA up. Now that I am unemployed I really have no excuse to fail any of my classes, I'm aiming for an A in my CIS-1 class and at LEAST a B in my Hist-17 class, but this teacher is a difficult grader and her assignments are primarily writing and critical thinking, which I suck at! Anyway, no excuses, I can't keep doing this to myself, I'm already twenty-five with less credits than a college freshman, how embarrassing. I want to do this right and transfer out already. Next semester I plan on taking English-550, Art-1, Hist-18, and Psychology 25, which are all re-takes. Once I get my GPA up and perhaps qualify for financial aid, I'd like to take some photo classes, both digital and film so I can learn more of photography's technical aspects. I took a class years ago and still remember apertures and shutter speeds, but that is all I know. So, as a reward for finally getting some of my shit back together, I'd like to take a class for something I really enjoy.
My parents bought me that Beatles mug, George Harrison is my favorite!
Trying to take notes whilst I read and working on understanding the books and the questions the teacher wants answered. Yes, I get coffee stains on EVERYTHING.
I do my homework in the living room because I feel like my room is far too distracting. I prefer to leave my house to do work, but there isn't anywhere that is open late in the evening with Wi-Fi around my house, that's why I need to start waking up earlier. Ignore my parents gaudy taste and mis-matched prints everywhere. -____-
